This mini bronze dragon is a very cute 35mm high and 20mm wide. This dragon ornament is genuine solid bronze. It is hand-cast in moulds and then hand-finished, ensuring that it will last for generations.

This very special dragon holds a pearl. This Chinese dragon is connected to water, unlike the western dragons who are connected to fire. This dragon is called a loong, lung or long dragon as is symbolic of prosperity and good luck.

The pearl represents wisdom, power and spiritual energy and is also known as the wish-fulfilling jewel. To Buddhists, this wish-fulfilling jewel symbolises the glowing sun that brings great joy.

There is a wonderful story set in central China when the people were dying of hunger and thirst and their crops were failing. A boy found a patch of grass, he ploughed it but the grass grew back each time. When he dug up the turf he found a pearl. He took the pearl home and hid it in a sack of rice. And the sack of rice began to overflow. The boy's mother shared the rice with her neighbours. Soon news of this miracle made its way to the greedy emperor. The boy swallowed the pearl to hide it and transformed into a dragon. From that day forth he protected the land and the people in his dragon form.
